“Our people form the foundations of our success.”

Lorenzo Maghnagi, Founder

formalighting’s founder considers the company’s greatest asset to be the dedicated, solution-oriented collective who make-up the formalighting team.
In addition to ensuring competitive remuneration, benefits, training, opportunities for growth and job satisfaction, formalighting maintains a commitment to fairness, diversity, equality and inclusivity.

SA8000 certified standards and the formalighting workplace policy enable basic measures within the company. However, since 2019 formalighting proudly embraced the opportunity to further transform our company culture, through our support and sponsorship of a global project encouraging gender equality within the lighting industry.

British light activists & designers - Light Collective, with the support of formalighting and Archifos, launched the global, inspirational project, Women in Lighting (WIL), on March 8th 2019.
Aimed at increasing the profile of women in the field of lighting, via a digital platform that promotes their achievements, passions and career path, WIL has used social activism to highlight and challenge unconscious bias in the industry via a strong social media presence that has built a large following.

WIL has evolved to form an internationally connected community, with Ambassadors in over 75 countries, that shares information and knowledge through a number of initiatives.

formalighting’s Global Operations Director, Sharon Maghnagi, has been directly involved in the WIL Team since its inception and in turn the project has positively influenced the company’s culture.

As an advocate for redressing gender inequality, formalighting extended this in the arts, by supporting the publication of the book Women Light Artists - Collected Light, Volume 1. The book launch was inaugurated by two exhibitions in London and Milan, sponsored by formalighting, showcasing commissioned artworks and celebrating the Artists exhibiting their pieces.
